This launch event set out the vision for institutional capital deployment in investment solutions based on place according to economic, social and environmental need.
It began with an introduction to PBII and the outcomes of the white paper - Scaling up institutional investment for place-based impact - from The Good Economy.
This was followed by a panel discussion comprising stakeholders from the PBII ecosystem – pension funds, local government, independent advisers, investment consultants and asset managers – to highlight the key challenges, barriers and solutions to creating lasting action-orientated change. Only by engaging with the complete investment chain can we collaborate to understand the demand and supply sides’ needs. Attendees then moved into breakout groups to address a number of key questions on how we move the agenda forward, the output of which will inform and shape the direction of the forum.
Karen Shackleton, Founder of Pensions for Purpose, summarised the outcomes of the breakout discussions and close out the event.
