In recent years, the world has witnessed a remarkable transformation in the energy sector. Of particular note, 2023 marked a significant milestone, with new investments in renewable energy reaching an unprecedented $673bn, a 10% increase from the previous year.

Solar PV accounted for circa 58% of this total, with forecasts indicating an increasing share in the years ahead. This has led solar PV being hailed as the 'star of global energy investments', by the executive director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol.
