... In 2020, the UK Stewardship Code came into effect, setting higher stewardship standards for asset managers, asset owners and service providers. Sarasin & Partners are delighted to be a signatory for three years running and their latest stewardship report explains how they comply with the code on behalf of clients.

They believe investment has the power to grow and protect money in a way that benefits society. Furthermore, because wealth creation at society's expense is likely to be ephemeral, sustainable companies make better investments.

Sarasin & Partners' stewardship philosophy is built on three pillars:
  • A robust, thematic, global investment process focused on long-term value drivers.
  • Active engagement with companies the firm invests in and considered voting to drive positive change on clients' behalf.
  • Policy outreach where they believe they can play a positive role in shaping markets and regulation.
Their stewardship work and thematic investment philosophy draw on each other. Their five megathemes mean they invest in long-term trends that have the power to improve societal welfare; they want to invest in ways that drive positive change, so integrate ESG factors into fundamental analysis.
