Paris Agreement – a legally binding international treaty on climate change that aims to limit global warming to a 1.5°C temperature increase compared with pre-industrial levels. It was adopted by 196 Parties at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) in Paris, France, on 12 December 2015. According to the World Meteorological Society there is still a 66% likelihood of exceeding the 1.5°C threshold in at least one year between 2023 and 2027.
