... Find out how Cheyne Impact Real Estate Trust (CIRET) is making progress towards its stated impact objectives in The Good Economy (TGE)'s second independent Annual Impact Report for the Trust.

CIRET was launched by Cheyne Capital in 2020 to increase the provision of high-quality affordable and specialist housing and improve the quality of lives of people with a range of housing needs – including people facing homelessness, those with specialised or elderly care needs, and key workers. As of March 2022, the Trust had invested £86 million towards the provision of 371 homes, of which 81 were operational and 284 were under construction.

TGE found that the capital that CIRET has already deployed will deliver a best-in-class approach to increasing and accelerating the supply of affordable homes. Cheyne Capital has a person-centred approach to affordability. They monitor local earnings to ensure that rents and rental increases reflect local earnings and salary increases rather than market trends. TGE believes this to be a best-practice approach given the economic climate.
