And while many have started to narrow their focus only on certain aspects of climate change (for example, reducing greenhouse gas emissions), Goodhart'sLaw would argue otherwise. This law outlines the notion that when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure. In other words, reducing environmental concerns to one single measure (in this case, emissions) will not in any way ensure that Earth's resources will be intact for future generations.
