... China is known for having the highest e-commerce penetration rate in the world. Beyond traditional online purchases of merchandise, booking of services and ordering food, innovative e-commerce models are constantly being developed. Among the hottest since last year is 'community group buying'. It was initially an answer to challenges Chinese consumers faced in smaller cities due to COVID-19. It is rapidly becoming an important driver for the expansion of e-commerce into so-far untapped markets.
