The private markets have reached an inflection point in ESG - Capital Dynamics

This article explores a wide range of evidence supporting the conclusion that the progression of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) factors has reached an inflection point in our industry, driven by shifting regulation, demographics, and social norms. No longer a “nice to have”, it will soon be – and in many cases already is – a necessary condition of serving our clients effectively. Furthermore, as the link is established between responsible investment underwriting and investment performance, rational investors will be inclined to select managers with the strongest ESG practices.
