... WHEB Asset Management has published its 6th annual impact report, "Solutions in a Time of Crisis", which highlights a new ‘impact engine’ methodology and explores carbon footprinting in greater detail.

In a time of crisis, the world needs companies that can provide solutions. This 50-page impact report is first and foremost an annual account of how the companies in WHEB’s investment portfolio are providing these critical solutions. The report is accompanied by a major upgrade to WHEB’s online impact microsite, which enables investors to engage interactively to understand how their savings are associated with a positive impact.

Key highlights:
  • WHEB’s new methodology explained. The “Impact engine” is a framework to analyse the different dimensions of positive impact.
  • Positioned for Net Zero Carbon. Our most detailed examination of carbon risk in the portfolio.
  • The Carbon Trust conducted a peer-review of WHEB’s impact measurement methodology.
WHEB has one of the longest established impact investment strategies in listed equities. The report quantifies the positive social and environmental impact and maps each investment against the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

“Mapping positive impact is only the first step. Understanding the different dimensions of impact is the new frontier,” says Seb Beloe, Partner and Head of Research. We have introduced a new approach, the ‘impact engine’, that assesses five dimensions of impact and sits at the heart of our investment process.

The report explores scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, as well as the avoided carbon in the strategy. More detail is also provided on WHEB’s own commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2025. An updated version of WHEB’s ‘impact calculator’ is provided along with further detail on the underlying methodology which has been peer reviewed by the Carbon Trust.
