The transition to clean energy is the challenge of our generation. The solutions are complex but so called ‘Paris-aligned’ portfolios are often more focused on decarbonisation trajectories than accessing the solutions. Developing economies, including China, are an essential part of the answer. How can investors position their portfolios to take advantage of the transition?

Storebrand is a leading asset manager in the Nordic region, providing cutting-edge sustainable investment solutions. Speaker Lauren Juliff, offered her insights into Paris-aligned portfolio construction and explained how their approach to systematic equity investing has evolved to improve alignment with the best available data, science, and policy over the years since the Paris Agreement was adopted by 196 parties at the United Nations’ COP21 in December 2015.

This session covered:

  • Why decarbonisation and de-risking can be counterproductive.
  • Why exposure to the clean energy value chain and the demand for growth is crucial.
  • Ways to access climate solutions in emerging markets.

We were delighted Storebrand Asset Management shared their extensive experience with our members.

Who should attend?

This event was open to local government pension scheme (LGPS) investment decision makers, DC master trusts, professional trustees, investment advisers and consultants interested in climate solutions.
