Many pension schemes are considering the impact of their investment strategy on people and the planet, including the just transition to clean energy and positively influencing local social issues such as housing. This session heard from experts and pension schemes leading the way. They addressed:

  • Which investment strategies work best for real-world change.
  • How to measure the impact of the investments.
  • From investment to impact – a guide for members.

We were delighted to welcome speakers from Church of England Pensions Board, Cushon, the Impact Investing Institute, the University of Cambridge and WHEB.

Following the panel discussion, we moved into breakout rooms of mixed stakeholders, led by some of our Community Partners, including Downing, EY and Jupiter Asset Management. We then returned to the main room to share insights.

This event was one of two we delivered with Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) on this topic:

1) A hybrid in-person/online session for pension funds only - 15 May.
2) Online session for all Pensions for Purpose members plus others across the wider pension sector – 22 May.
