Active ownership has become a widely accepted tool for investors to manage risk and drive change across portfolios, with many choosing this route to express sustainable views over divestment. However, engagement is not a one-size fits all approach.

Members of J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Sustainable Investing team, Amara Lalemi-Jacobs and Lisa Kladitis, discussed the spectrum of engagement and how they use it to manage transition risks and drive outcomes across sustainable thematic portfolios. They covered the importance of a disciplined framework and how to set expectations with companies upfront, providing examples of their own engagement with topics from climate solutions to social housing.

As part of the Global Impact Forum, this one-hour interactive roundtable was followed by a Q&A hosted by Charlotte O’Leary of Pensions for Purpose.

Who is this event for?

This event was open to asset owners such as pension fund trustees, in-house executives and independent advisers, professional trustees and investment consultants with a specialist focus on defined contribution pension schemes.
