THE WINNERS

Impact Investing Adopter Award
Environment Agency Pension Fund

Judges’ feedback  the judges rated all of the shortlist as strong, each having compelling features in their impact approach. The Environment Agency Pension Fund were selected as the winner because of the integration across their work, their pragmatic approach and compelling impact case studies, particularly in emerging markets.

Place-Based Impact Award
Brunel Pension Partnership
Judges’ feedback  the judges reviewed the shortlist on The Good Economy’s PBII traits - meeting local need, stakeholder engagement, impact management and measurement, reporting. A number stood out but Brunel was chosen as the winner because the judges recognised how progressive their approach was in relation to the type of asset owner they are.

Social Impact Award
Cushon
Judges’ feedback – the judges felt there were two very strong candidates for the award with brilliant case studies. Cushon won because the judges felt their theory of change and embedding of social impact in strategy was most comprehensive and thought leading.

Paris Alignment Award – Best Climate Change Member Communication
Smart Pension Master Trust
Judges' feedback – this was, in the judges’ opinion, a thoughtfully designed document which was crisp and engaging – it was clearly set out with an executive summary and had a very appealing presentation with a good use of graphics. It was an excellent policy document with a clear summary of targets and was educational in terms of what they do. One judge observed that it has a “superb landing page, it was eye-catching and made me want to read on".

Paris Alignment Award – Best Climate Governance and Strategy Statement
Environment Agency Pension Fund
Judges' feedback – the winners policy was, in the judges’ opinion, very strong throughout. The winner was setting the standards on how improvements year on year can progress on this key issue. Their member survey results were shared and there was an up front, clear summary of the policy using an excellent 'policy in a nutshell' framework. There was also a good explanation of net zero, Paris alignment and the role of fossil fuels, and a clear summary of targets.
