The current cost of living crisis (especially fuel poverty) is quickly compounding the UK’s long-term structural housing crisis. With wages and pensions failing to keep up with rising prices, more families and older people are being priced out of the housing market each week.

The National Housing Federation estimates that up to 2 million households could be on local authority housing waiting lists by the end of 2022.

Benjamin Davis explained why Octopus, as a B Corp, and with its energy expertise, is well placed to tackle these dual challenges, and he analysed the current affordable housing market and explained the nuances of Octopus’ strategy and where it will be spreading its tentacles.

Who was this event for?

This event was open to asset owners such as pension fund trustees, in-house executives and independent advisers, professional trustees and consultants.
