The current cost of living crisis (especially fuel poverty) is quickly compounding the UK’s long-term structural housing crisis. With wages and pensions failing to keep up with rising prices, more families and older people are being priced out of the housing market each week.
The National Housing Federation estimates that up to 2 million households could be on local authority housing waiting lists by the end of 2022.

Speaker biography
Benjamin joined Octopus in 2010 and has led the merged Octopus Real Estate business since 2019. He chairs the Octopus Real Estate Investment Committee and is a member of the British Property Forum Healthcare Committee. Prior to Octopus, Benjamin worked for YFM Equity Partners investing across a range of sectors, and in corporate finance and venture capital at investment bank Interregnum in the UK and USA. He has an MBA from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
