27 June 2022 – Paris Alignment Forum online training with Amundi ETF

From net zero to clean energy – a practical look at climate investing for pension funds.

In this training session, Amundi ETF unpacked some of the language used in climate investing, explained how to choose a low-carbon index and discussed some of the practical issues pension funds should think about when introducing a climate action investment approach. The agenda covered:

  • Low-carbon, net zero, Paris-aligned… Understanding the language of climate investing.
  • How can investors choose the right low carbon index?
  • The differences between indices and their implications – from tracking error to passive objectives.
  • How are Paris-aligned indices delivering on their objectives?
  • The role of engagement in targeting net zero.
  • Monitoring and measuring – how to consider financial and extra financial performance.
  • The important future for new energy.

 Questions and comments were moderated by Karen Shackleton of Pensions for Purpose.

Francois Millet, Head of Strategy, ESG and Innovation at Lyxor ETF, Amundi Group

Francois Millet

François Millet is Head of Strategy, ESG and Innovation on a global basis. He joined Lyxor in 2009 as Head of Index and Quantitative Fund Development. Prior to Lyxor, he was Director of Index Funds & ETFs at Societe Generale Asset Management AI, where he developed the index management business including passive funds, ETFs, index-enhanced and alternative beta products since 2004. In 2005, he introduced the first range of structured ETFs in Europe (leveraged, short and capital protected). Before this, he worked for 14 years with SG Corporate & Investment Banking, holding executive and management positions within the Equity Capital Markets business line.

François holds a Master's in Economy and post-Master’s degrees in Money & Finance from La Sorbonne and Assas universities (Paris).
