There is an important role that pensions can have in aligning members investment to a more sustainable world. The upcoming UN Convention on Biological Diversity, COP 15 summit in December 2022, will focus minds on urgent environmental challenges such as natural capital and biodiversity loss. This session offered a deep dive into how active managers are ideally placed, through fundamental analysis, to take a forward-looking view on sustainability, focusing on real world outcomes rather than ratings. This analysis supports alignment of portfolios that minimise impact on the environment while supporting value creation for society – all while seeking the returns that we need for our long-term savings.

This was be followed by a roundtable discussion with Q&A and shared insights, moderated by Karen Shackleton of Pensions for Purpose.

Who was this event for?

This event was opened to pension funds, professional trustees, independent advisers, consultants, government representatives and fiduciary managers.
