This was an online afternoon tea with Jupiter Asset Management.

Social inequality in its various forms is increasingly being recognised as a key priority for companies, asset owners and governments, while COP26 has rightly focused minds on the urgent need to address environmental challenges. Increasing systemic risk of biodiversity and natural capital becoming increasingly material for economic return. Capital markets have a key role to play in this process, but on a practical level how can pension schemes best construct portfolios that consider the balance of planet, people and profit? To what extent can data help? This session offered a deep dive into how fundamental sustainability analysis can be done in listed equities, using case studies to illustrate the opportunities available for asset owners to create portfolios that minimise impact on the environment, while maximising value for society – all while providing the returns that we need for our savings.

This was followed by a roundtable discussion with Q&A and shared insights, moderated by Charlotte O’Leary of Pensions for Purpose.
