Pensions for Purpose were delighted to co-host this virtual presentation and discussion on 8 March with Barnett Waddingham and Big Society Capital to share the findings from research we had recently undertaken looking into sustainable investing and impact investment.

Amanda Latham, Policy & Strategy Lead at Barnett Waddingham and Andrew Beal, Head of Investor Engagement at Big Society Capital kicked-off this roundtable discussion by sharing a summary of the findings from this research. This was followed by a discussion moderated by Charlotte O’Leary, CEO of Pensions for Purpose.

Questions that were posed, included:

  • Why is sustainability and impact investing so important for pension fund trustees, managers and sponsors? What do changes in government policy, consumer preferences and market values mean?
  • How do pension fund investors integrate environmental and social impacts in investment objective setting, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals? How do they identify opportunities and what are the challenges?
  • What steps are trustees taking to better prepare themselves for these issues? What more can be done?

Who was this event for?
