This quarterly online, all-stakeholder, member-only event for the Impact Investing Adopters Forum, was a panel session focusing on the fact that pension funds can and do have environmental and social impact across their portfolios. Julius Pursaill from Cushon, an innovative DC pension provider and Master Trust, talked to how they have embedded both environmental and social impact, the value they see in this (for members and in terms of their investments), as well as their theory of change. Tim Manuel, Co-Head of Responsible Investment at Aon, provided the perspective on how you then take these objectives and weave them into an investment process and asset allocation. Laure Villepelet, Head of ESG & CSR at the alternative asset manager Tikehau Capital, talked through how they take an investment mandate like this from a client and provide appropriate investment solutions. Does the changing market place, regulation and investor appetite mean we can start talking about impact as maximising rather than sacrificing risk-adjusted returns?

The panel was followed by a moderated 45 minutes of Q&A by Charlotte O’Leary of Pensions for Purpose.
