... The private market landscape is quite different from public markets. Here the investment manager has far greater control over the direction the underlying assets take. Having been somewhat slow to embrace ESG and climate change it is clear there is a ground shift taking place within private markets. The second webinar in Barnett Waddingham's series focused on helping trustees see the opportunities in private markets that can help align their portfolios with the Paris Agreement. Matt Tickle discussed different types of private market assets and their ESG / climate risk credentials. They also introduced carbon offsetting assets that trustees can use to reduce their carbon footprint and discuss how these can be accessed.
