The regulatory and investment landscape facing institutional investors from the perspective of ESG is changing rapidly, influenced by initiatives such as the EU Action Plan on Sustainable Finance and changes to UK pension regulations.

With the COP 26 Glasgow taking place in 2021, this ensures that ESG remains firmly in our consciousness.

From an investment standpoint, so much of the industry’s attention has been on equities but how does fixed income fit into this rapidly changing landscape?

What are the opportunities and limitations of bond markets relative to equity markets in helping pension fund or charity trustees fulfil their fiduciary duties and what should such institutional investors be looking for from their fund managers from both an impact and engagement standpoint?

Rhys Petheram, Jupiter's fixed income expert led the discussion alongside Andrew Mortimer, their Governance and Sustainability Analyst to further explore these questions. Karen Shackleton joined the conversation to provide insight from a pension fund and impact angle.
