... In their October 2021 publication, Franklin Templeton once again provide updated ESG scores for the 100 countries in their actively covered universe. This update also contains a brief review of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals and a deeper examination of the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 on ESG scores.

Additionally, Franklin Templeton discuss how the sovereign fixed income ESG landscape is constantly evolving, and how research in this area remains an ongoing priority of their team.

Finally, the paper provides an ex-post performance review of countries with positive ESG momentum versus countries with negative ESG momentum, and concludes with a series of case studies on specific countries that are in the midst of significant ESG changes, including Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Colombia and Chile.
