In this short video, Charlotte O'Leary and Richard Giles reflect on the challenges and progress in Q2 and outline opportunities for the Pensions for Purpose Community over the rest of the year.

What’s new?

Facing headwinds – as political resistance to ESG and DE&I grows in some parts of the world, our Community shows resilience. Despite heightened global challenges, asset owners remain committed to sustainability, though they may express it differently. We believe pragmatism is essential in maintaining momentum.

System & Governance Change group – we’re launching a pilot to address one of the root causes of stalled progress in sustainable investing: systemic barriers in governance and regulation. This group will bring together diverse stakeholders from across the investment chain to collaborate on meaningful, lasting solutions.

Insurance and impact – insurers are vital but often under-recognised in the investment ecosystem. We’re expanding our research to include insurers, aiming to support them through education and dialogue – in navigating regulatory constraints and embedding sustainability in decision-making.

Get involved – members will have the chance to shape and participate in upcoming research, particularly focused on insurers. We're inviting all Community members – asset owners, managers and advisers – to contribute to this work and join upcoming discussions.

A space for every voice – we remain committed to creating an inclusive environment for conversation. Now more than ever, we must listen, learn and collaborate to navigate uncertainty and build a more sustainable investment future.
