In this short video, Karen and Charlotte talk about Pensions for Purpose’s valuable role as an ‘honest broker’, bringing different stakeholders to the table to consider how to implement impact investing.

In particular, they reflect on:

  • Highlights from the last year:

    • For example, our Q3 Paris Alignment Forum all-stakeholder event on climate adaptation and resilience featuring Marion Maloney of the Environment Agency Pension Fund and Danielle Boyd of the Institutional Investors’ Group on Climate Change. (Read a summary of the discussion here.)
  • Our plans for the coming year, including:

    • Developing our training initiative, headed by independent trustee David Brown, which intends to practically help pension funds through the impact investment journey to implementation.
    • Transitioning our Impact Investing Adopters Forum into a Global Impact Forum, which will focus on impact investing as a strategic decision with a holistic view.
    • Expanding our Impact Lens research to help our members navigate what is happening in this fast-changing market. (For example, we’re researching a TCFD project, interviewing pension funds and establishing how the recent reporting requirements have informed their investment strategy and member communications.)
  • And what they see as the main benefits of membership
