In my early career I first worked as an actuary in pensions and latterly investment strategy and fiduciary management. Latterly I was CIO for the HSBC Pension Scheme which is where I was first exposed to climate-related issues for asset-owners. I came to see that investment is not just about risk and return – it has a much deeper purpose for all of us. Equally we have a demanding responsibility to make sure capital flows to the right places. This inspired me to set up independently in 2020 with roles in pension funds, asset management and, of course with Pensions for Purpose. I am delighted to be part of such a motivated and purpose-led team at Pensions for Purpose.
