Lorna Leonard
External Finance Consultant

Born in a small market town in Bedfordshire I grew up on the local London Overspill estate, playing in the street, making camps and generally living the life of a childhood detective, ably abetted by Enid Blyton, Agatha Christie and other equally exciting story tellers.

After attending the local schools and leaving at 18, university not really being an option, I went in to accounting rather by accident than design, but I never looked back. Working from Accounts Junior to Finance Director during my corporate career, I gained Fellowship of the ACCA in 2013 5 years after passing my exams which I did at home without any financial or time support. I am also a Chartered Fellow of CMI.

In 2016 I made the move away from corporate to grow my own business delivering high quality Virtual/Outsourced Finance Department Services I had been doing Part Time FD work as a side gig since 2012. Last year I was delighted to be able to celebrate 10 years in business and have seen the team grow to 11 staff and more amazingly see its efforts rewarded by being finalists in the Accountancy Excellence Awards in two categories focused on customer service.

I remain committed to continual improvement both of myself, my team and business so when Stephanie offered me the chance to work with Pensions For Purpose I leapt at it, as it gave the opportunity to work with a business at the forefront of thought leadership and growing fast with a focus on the positive effects of investment and another new and exciting adventure for us all to go on.
